The Drop is Bezl’s fast-track news format — quick reads that bring you the latest releases in under 3 minutes.

The news

Kollokium, the independent collective founded in 2020 by Manuel Emch, Barth Nussbaumer, and Amr Sindi, returns with Projekt 02, debuting in a FFF&F Edition — short for Friends, Family, Fools & Flippers. Limited to 199 pieces, the release first goes to Projekt 01 owners before opening to a wider audience. It’s priced at CHF 3,333 (excl. VAT), marking another accessible yet avant-garde statement from the Geneva-based brand.

A nine-layer topographic dial made from 67 stacked plates.

The design

If Projekt 01 was a study in visual chaos, Projekt 02 is a lesson in structure. Its multi-layered “topographic” dial is built from 67 stacked metal plates arranged across nine levels, creating depth and texture in a way rarely seen in watchmaking. The lower layers are coated in white lacquer with Super-LumiNova, while the top surfaces are sandblasted to catch and diffuse light. The orange seconds hand adds a pop of color amid the architectural precision.

The case is a die-cast monobloc of 316L steel — no bezel, no caseback, no unnecessary divisions. Its sculpted triangular lugs, vented crown, and engraved side inscription “K,P–n°02” reinforce its raw, industrial feel. Measuring 39.5 mm across and 12.4 mm thick (including sapphire), the watch carries 50 m of water resistance and comes on an elastic khaki textile strap with a matching die-cast buckle.

White lacquer and Super-LumiNova illuminate the sculptural dial after dark.

The movement

Inside is the La Joux-Perret G101, an automatic caliber running at 28,800 vph with a 68-hour power reserve. True to Kollokium’s philosophy, the movement is left unbranded and hidden — the message is clear: this project is about design, not about name-dropping.

A single-block 316L steel case — no bezel, no caseback, pure monolith.

Unbranded mechanics keep the focus on design integrity.

Why it matters

Projekt 02 shows a brand in evolution — moving from shock value to structured experimentation. It’s less of a “look-at-me” concept piece and more of a carefully composed sculpture for the wrist. The topographic dial is unlike anything else in its price range, while the monobloc construction and tactile presence push the limits of what “independent design” means. For collectors who crave originality and aren’t afraid to wear conversation pieces, Projekt 02 is precisely that.

Bezl’s take

Kollokium has done it again — but differently. Projekt 02 feels mature, almost meditative. The topographic dial plays with light and depth in a way that draws you in, while the one-piece case gives the whole watch a monolithic presence. There’s courage in keeping the movement anonymous and the design front and center. It’s not trying to impress you with specs; it’s trying to make you feel something. That’s what makes it stand out — it’s design as identity, not decoration.
