The news

Lang & Heyne has unveiled the Georg “Penny Watch” Special Edition, created in collaboration with Korean collector platform Penny Watch / Collector’s House in Seoul. Limited to just 7 pieces, the edition celebrates both the 7th anniversary of Collector’s House and the growing influence of collector-led design in modern independent watchmaking.

Created in collaboration with Seoul-based Penny Watch to mark its 7th anniversary.

The design

The watch builds on the classical Georg line, with distinct details chosen by the Penny Watch community. The 40 × 32 mm case in rose gold is paired with a pastel-turquoise givré dial, a finish that adds depth and texture with a sandblasted base and transparent lacquer. The small seconds sits at six o’clock, marked with a subtle “7” as a nod to the anniversary. The crown is set with a cabochon, while the hands and indices follow Georg’s pure design language with community-inspired tweaks.

Limited to just 7 pieces worldwide — exclusivity defined.

The movement

Inside is Lang & Heyne’s Caliber VIII, a hand-wound movement designed for the Georg line. Seen through the sapphire caseback, it carries the engraving “One of 7” to highlight the limited production. With a 55-hour power reserve, stop-seconds, and the brand’s signature hand-finishing, the caliber balances classical German horology with bespoke detailing.

A collaboration born from community, not marketing.

Why it matters

This is more than a limited edition — it’s a statement about how collector communities can shape independent watchmaking. By letting the Penny Watch community guide choices such as the dial, hands, and strap, Lang & Heyne shows the power of dialogue between watchmakers and enthusiasts. It’s also a sign of how independents are strengthening their ties with local markets and global collector culture.

Bezl’s take

This project feels heartfelt and daring — not just a branding exercise but a genuine collaboration. The pastel-turquoise dial is the star here: despite the incredible work under the hood, it steals the show. The way the turquoise tone plays against the warmth of the rose gold case makes the watch truly pop.

The rectangular form gives it a classical, almost architectural presence, yet the color palette brings youth and freshness — a balance that feels both refined and modern. I especially love the subtle “7” placed within the small seconds, a clever detail that anchors the anniversary theme without shouting.

This is a partnership that really delivers. A community-driven design that still feels true to Lang & Heyne’s DNA, and proof that when collaborations are done right, they can create something meaningful. Congratulations to both sides — beautifully executed.

The Penny Watch Edition — wearable art with a story to tell.
